My friend wanted to do the tourist thing in the San Francisco Bay area. In two days you can't even scratch the surface. We drove up to the wine country and had a fabulous meal at the Culinary Institute of America, then took the Cable cars to pier 39, where a herd of sea lions took up residence right after the 1989 earthquake. Then we walked the Fishermans wharf area, had an Irish Coffee, scoped out the Ghiradelli chocolate store , took a quick walk thru the Maritime museum, which consists of more than a half dozen ships and a submarine, and ended up at the Golden Gate Bridge.
