These are a few of the many pictures I took while collecting sferics - signals produced by lightning. The original plan called for picking up the sferic receivers in San Diego, driving to Tucson, then collecting data from Tucson to Denver. But due to some problems with the receivers I ended up coming back to San Diego and then taking the receivers up California's Central Valley as far as Chico. It was a long drive, but this was the right time of year to do it. Because of recent rainfall the deserts were in bloom, distant peaks were snow capped, and temperatures were still mild.

Once you've brought up the first picture, you can either press the back button to get back to this thumbnails page, or you can use the left/right arrows at the top of every page to sequentially view the rest of the pictures in full screen format. The up arrow will return you to this page. I reduced the size of all the pictures so the pages will load in a reasonable time. If you want a higher resolution version of a picture, drop me a line and tell me what file you want - you should see the file name on the status bar at the bottom of the browser if you put the mouse cursor over the picture if you have the status bar activated - otherwise right-click on a picture, select "save as.." and note the default file name.
