The following are pictures taken at the San Mateo Summer Biathlon held at Coyote Point County Park on October 31st by Dennis Shea and Allen Takahashi. For those of you who are interested, the results are posted here. I know there were at least two other photographers taking pictures at the race - could you drop me a line - or even better, your pictures?
For those of you who couldn't make it, we had a beautiful day for the race - crystal clear, sunny, no wind, and perfect temperatures for running. Despite some competition from several other local foot races, we had 41 registered racers - including several members of the Junior Olympic ClubRifle Team.
Due to a mis-communication, we didn't have a shoot-off after the race. It would have been interesting as we had five people shoot clean this time - Winston Parsons, Stephen Bellingham, David Takahashi, Scott Munns, and Raoul Salem. Mike Fife, Marty Briesach, Allen Takahashi, and Mike Dunia missed only one standing target each. Interestingly, all of the top shooters were men this time - a complete reversal from our last race where the woman took all. Also, six of these top nineshooters were using the old club Marlins and not Anshutz's. Congrats to all of you for some great shooting!
Thanks to all the RSOs of the Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Range for running the shooting clinic and helping with range set-up and teardown, Paul Mackenzie for doing race registration, much of the data entry, and tabulating race results - which thanks to Paul went very smoothly this year, Wally and Liese Rapozo for food shopping, purchasing and distributing door prizes, helping with Rifle zero and range set-up, and all of you who helped clean up after the race. The event wouldn't happen without all of your help and participation.
