Be patient - hopefully I will be done with labeling this page by the end of the weekend of the 25th.
This Summer Biathlon was organized by Scot Binkerd. (Thanks again Scott!) The race took place near Heber City, Utah, at Soldier Hollow - the site where the 2002 Winter Olympic Biathlon competitions will take place. The weather cooperated, and we had a gorgeous day in the upper sixties. The wind, which had been gusty the day before, held off until the after the last round of the shoot-off. Fiftyone biathletes ran the course - including members of the National Guard team, and those trying to qualify for the National Team. We also had many SLOC volunteers. The results will be posted here at some point.
Your computer monitor color depth needs to be set to thousands for the colors or the pictures will not look right. This page will take 2-3 minutes to load at 28.8 K baud. Click on a picture to see the full-sized version. I used a lot of compression in the interests of keeping download times reasonable - the actual pictures are quite a bit better than even the full size ones. For instance, in the first shot, the original shows the windows in the big white buildingnestled against the hills left of center (the course timing "shack"). Even with compression, the file sizes are roughly on the order of 100k/ picture.
